Petting zoo
The Thermopolis High School FFA Chapter is hosting their annual animal petting zoo on Thursday, April 24 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Ag Shop. Everyone is welcome and there is no entrance fee.
Risen Son Christian School fundraiser
Pasta with a Purpose, a spaghetti dinner and auction fundraiser, will be held Friday, April 25 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Hot Springs County Fair Building. To volunteer to help with the event or to make a donation, contact Shailee Harvey at (307) 921-8069 or Brian Johnson (307) 921-4434.
Donkey basketball
Hot Springs County High School Student Council members are hosting Donkey Basketball on Saturday, April 26 at 7 p.m. in the high school gymnasium. HSCHSD#1 staff will take on members of the class of 2025 in the first game and first responders will take on FFA members in the second game. Those games will be followed by the championship game. Tickets are available at high school, O’Reilys and the Chamber of Commerce. Advance tickets are $10 and they are $15 at the door.
Government 101
The Learning Center is hosting part 3 of a 3-part series on how our local county governments works. It will be held on Monday, April 28 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Learning Center, 122 N. 5th St. This month’s topic is How do we pay for County Services? Featured speakers are HSC Treasurer Julie Mortimore, HSC Assessor Dan Webber and HSC Clerk Becky Kersten.
Cinco de Mayo party
The 1890’s Riders are hosting a Cinco de Mayo party on Saturday, May 3 from 7-10 p.m. at the VFW, 302 Broadway St. There will be food, drink specials and music. Entery is $10 per adult and $5 per child. There will be reliable drivers available to give rides home.
Motorcycle awareness parade
On Saturday, May 3 the 1890’s Riders are hosting their 2nd annual Motorcyle Awareness Month Parade. The event kicks off with a blessing of the bikes at 11:30 a.m. at Southside Travel Center, 167 Highway 20 S. The parade begins from that location at noon. The route will be announced later.
Shotgun fun shoot
The Rotary Club of Thermopolis is hosting a Rounds for Rotary Shotgun Fun Shoot in Saturday, May 3 at the Bob Milek Memorial Gun Range from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Participants can bring their own gun or use a loaner. Ammo is provided. Shooters of all ages are welcome. There is a $5 buy-in/shot to shoot for a chance to win prizes. There will be a BBQ lunch fundraiser available. All proceeds go to benefit FFA/Rotary lifejackets and new welcome sign projects.
