The Starpower Regional Dance Competition was held on March 1-2 in Gillette at the Cam-Plex Center.
Members of Hot Springs Dance LLC competed with all their pieces choreographed by Tess Williams, owner and artistic director.
Skylar Lippincott performed in "Not About Angels." She earned overall first place level 2 solos (of 10+ routines) and was chosen for the Orlando, Florida Power Pak dance convention as an invite only participant.
For the piece "Brave", Skylar Lippincott, Kaylee Bazzle, Kyle Egger, Aliyah Deere, and Matea Vargas earned an overall eighth place group (of 10+ routines). Scarlett Deromedi performed in "If my Friends Could See Me Now". She earned first place musical theater solo age 8 and first place overall solo level 1 (of 10+ routines) and was a judges choice award: Tap-tastic.
For the piece "9 to 5", Scarlett Deromedi, Kyle Egger, Nora Ryan, Liliane Sayler, Cooper Enis, Bailey Peek, and Auburn Galovich earned first place musical theater small group and first place overall small group level 1 (of 10+ routines).
The dancers were awarded Regional Champion for all numbers in their age group (solos, duos, trios, small, large groups and line) and they were invited to the World Dance Championships this summer in New Jersey.
Additionally, all four pieces qualified for Nationals in Las Vegas, NV held June 24-27.
Hot Springs Dance artistic director Tess Williams said, "The dancers will be fundraising for this opportunity, any donations are appreciated."
