Joseph Russo, 73, of Thermopolis, Wyo., died Wednesday, February 12, at Hot Springs Health in Thermopolis, Wyo. Born in Wilson, Pa., he was a member of St. Francis Church and the Knights of Columbus.
Surviving are daughter, Amy Jay Nowak and husband, Christopher; granddaughter, Francesca, of Harrisburg, Pa.; son, John Ringo Russo, of Houston, Texas; nephew, Robert Leroy Christman II, of Stroudsburg, Pa.; wife, Jan, of Thermopolis, Wyo., and her sons, William Johnson and wife, Shay, their children, Amelia and Walker, of Albin, Wyo.; and Gregory Johnson and wife, Virginia, of Wellington, Colo.
Joseph was a graduate of Pius X High School, Bangor, Pa., Boston University, and Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara School of Medicine. Board certified in Internal Medicine, fellowed in Cardiology, and practiced Emergency Medicine throughout Northeast Pennsylvania for 47 years. He touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed. He loved his family, literature, art, poker and fishing.
Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday, February 18 at St. Francis Church, in Thermopolis, Wyo., Celebrated by the Rev. James Heiser. Interment was at Monument Hill Cemetery.
