Skylar Ohrt, alongside her grandma, Loretta Walters, shows off a cookie jar being auctioned off last weekend at the Hot Springs County Fair Building. The Cookie Jar Auction benefited Skylar, a 5th grade student diagnosed with end stage renal disease at an early age and more recently suffering from a stroke behind each eye resulting in blindness. Once again, our community members and businesses showed their generosity at the auction with the unofficial total at the end of the auction coming in at around $55,000 with more donations coming in. Auctioneers John Gerrells and John Holm are taking bids in the background.
