Gun Show
The Stars & Pipes annual gun show will be January 17 and 18 at the Hot Springs County Fair Building, 627 Springview. Friday the doors are open from 3-7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information, contact Bradyn Harvey at (307) 921-0089.
WY Walks for Seniors
On January 17, 24 and 31, WY Walks for Seniors is hosting a 45-minute guided tour at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West Museum in Cody beginning at 10 am. Everyone is welcome but only seniors and their caregivers are admitted for free when they join the morning walk and then they have the rest of the day in the museum to stroll. Participants are encouraged to attend all three dates.
Small business meeting
A network and learn meeting called Start and Fund Your Small Business will be held on Tuesday, January 21 from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Hot Springs County Library.
Participants will learn key considerations to launching a small business, discover pathways to business ownership, identify the components of a business plan, get prepared for funding, consider sources of capital and engage with other entrepreneurs.
Skyler Ohrt fundraiser
There will be a special cookie jar auction fundraiser for Skyler Ohrt on Saturday, February 1 at the fair building. Dinner will be at 5 p.m. and the auction at 6 p.m. Ken Ivy will be providing pulled pork. Skyler is a fifth grader and about to turn 11 years old. She was born with kidney disease and is on dialysis every night. Now she’s in the end stage of renal disease. About six weeks ago Skyler had a stroke behind her eyes and has lost all her vision. Her mother, Elizabeth Walters, takes care of her at home.
Cookie jars can be dropped off the week of the auction at Paintbrush Dental or at the fair building the day of the event.
Meeteetse events
The Meeteetse Friends of the NRA will again be hosting an NRA Wall of Guns event on Saturday, February 1, in partnership with Discover Meeteetse and their 17th Annual Meeteetse Ice Fishing Derby on February 1 & 2. The Wall of Guns event will begin at 6 p.m. at the Elk Horn Bar & Grill. The Wall of Guns game consists of 100 numbers, each number will sell for $10. After all 100 numbers are sold, a winner will be drawn and have their choice from over 35 various firearms including pistols, rifles, shotguns and more. Numbers will be for purchase for games before the event at The Elk Horn Bar & Grill, Oasis Motel and Wea Market of Meeteetse and continued to be sold throughout the event. A free meal at the Elk Horn the night of the event will be available to anyone that purchases at least 2 numbers.

Thermopolis Got Talent
Do you bring something special to the world and love to entertain people? Enjoy comedy, singing, or performing an amazing piece? Get ready for show time! Thermopolis-Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce is hosting Thermopolis Got Talent. Prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each category. The categories are: Elementary, Junior High, High School, and 18+. Winners for each category will compete for the Overall Winner.
The event will be held at the William H. Mallow Auditorium on February 2 at 2 p.m. Contact the Thermopolis-Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce for more information.
Deadline to Register is January 17. Must have 15 registered to hold the event.
Business plan workshop
A workshop presented by Devan Costa-Cargill, Regional Director Wyoming SBDC, called Creating a Business Plan will be held on Thursday, February 6 from 5:30-7 p.m. at 7 Lazy S Cafe, 109 S. 6th St. Space is limited and cost is $15 per person.
