Lola June Buckner

Lola June Buckner, 87 of Thermopolis, Wyo., passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 30, 2024.

She was born on June 26, 1937, in Hyannis, Neb. She was the daughter of Clyde and Fern Marie (Wright) Burton. Lola was raised in Nebraska and later moved to Wyoming, where she raised her family.

In her younger years, Lola loved to dance and later she enjoyed fishing and camping at Sunshine Reservoir, gardening, canning, and making homemade pickles. Lola enjoyed watching the hummingbirds in her yard and loved spending time with her family and was always their biggest fan.

She is survived by Bruce Self, her loving significant other of 40 years; daughter, Mary Jo of Wyoming; son, Wayne Buckner of Nebraska; daughter-in-law, Monica Buckner of Wyoming; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, Jimmy Buckner; sons, James and Rob Buckner; and daughter, Patricia Endicott.

Her family was her world, and she was their rock.
