HSC Lodging Tax, Amendment A pass

Official results from the 2024 General Election have been released and do not change information that was previously reported by the IR in last week’s edition.

In addition, the Hot Springs County Lodging Tax passed with 1,868 votes for and 633 votes against.

Also locally, the two candidates for East Thermopolis Town Council, Sid McDonald (79) and Julie Dodds Music (75) were both elected.

For Kirby Town Council, both Zachary Crees (26) and Tina L. Keasling (24) were elected for four year term and Cynthia Elledge (28) was elected for a two year term.

Chip Axtell was elected to the Conservation District Rural seat and 208 write-in votes were recorded for the Conservation District Urban seat.

Cindy DeVries (1,607), Margaret Stansill (1,575) and Barbara Tomes Vietti (1,558) were elected to the Cemetery District.

John Anderson (1,662) and John Fenton (1,288) were elected to the Hospital District.

Clint Huckfelt (764) was elected to the Fire District.

SC Justice Fenn, SC Justice Fox, DC Judge Simpson, CC Judge Darrah and CC Judge Luhm were all retained.

Constitutional Amendment A to separate residential property class for tax assessment passed statewide with 146,300 votes for and 100, 375 votes against.

A total of 271,043 Wyoming voters submitted ballots in the 2024 General Election.
