The Hot Springs County Clerk’s office has released unofficial results from the 2024 General Election and Bob Aguiar (R) narrowly won over Jack Baird (I) to serve a four year term as Hot Springs County Commissioner. Aguiar received 1,306 votes with Baird receiving 1,200 votes.
In the highly contested Hot Springs County School Board of Trustees race, the four winning vote earners include Justin Budd with 1,368, Jean Skelton with 1,255, Marshall Keller with 1,115 and Nichole Weyer with 997. Beth Lewis received 974 votes, Clay VanAntwerp 779, Jessica Lippincott 740 and Benjamin Postma 720.
Raymond E. Shaffer with 1,533 votes, Kathy Sorensen with 1,299, Marvin Nielsen with 1,260, Kimberly Joy Black with 992 and Curtis Cheney with 800 votes will serve on the Hot Springs County Senior Citizens Service District for a term to be determined at the organizational meeting of the board. Ted Brown received 724 votes, Gary Holbert 706 and Maxine Kay Toepke-Reese 580.
For Thermopolis Town Council, Tony Larson received 858 votes, Dusty Lewis received 813 votes, and William H. Malloy 546. Larson and Lewis will serve four year terms on the council.

In Hot Springs County for the House District 28 race, Republican incumbent John Winter received 1,979 votes and Democrat challenger Larry Alwin received 573 votes. Full district results were not available at press time but early results indicated Winter will be reelected. ONLINE UPDATE: District-wide Winter received a total of 3,986 votes and Alwin received 856. Winter has been reelected to serve his fourth term.
In the Senate District 20 race, Ed Cooper received 2,179 votes in Hot Springs County and will most likely serve a second term as no other candidates were not on the general ballot. ONLINE UPDATE: District-wide Cooper received 8,235 votes and will serve a second term.
For United States Senator, incumbent John Barrasso (R) received 2,139 votes in HSC and Scott D Morrow (D) received 436. Early statewide results indicated Barrasso will be reelected. ONLINE UPDATE: State-wide Barrasso received 198,366 votes and Morrow received 63,706. Barrasso has been reelected.
In the United States Representative race, Harriet Hageman (R) received 2,022 votes in HSC, Kyle G. Cameron (D) received 399 votes, Jeffrey Haggit (C) received 59 and Richard Brubaker (L) received 71. Early statewide results indicated Hageman will be reelected. ONLINE UPDATE: State-wide Hageman received 184,626 votes, Cameron 60,763, Brubaker 9,219 and Haggit 5,360. Hageman has been reelelcted. In the race for President and Vice President of the United States, Hot Springs County voters cast 2,082 votes for Donald J. Trump/JD Vance (R), 488 votes for Kamala D. Harris/Tim Walz (D) and 34 votes for Chase Oliver/Mike Ter Maat (L). ONLINE UPDATE: Wyoming's three electoral votes went to Trump/Vance, who received 192,576 votes to Harris/Walz 69,508 and Oliver/Ter Maat 4,191. Trump has been elected to serve as the 47th President of the United States, with online reports indicating he received 295 electoral votes (72,731,116 popular votes) to Harris, who received 226 electoral votes (68,067,099 popular votes).
A total of 2,642 votes were cast in HSC for the general election, up from 1,748 in the primary election
