The Lady Cats Volleyball team faced off with Shoshoni (6-13-1) this past Friday, and then played Greybull (13-9-3) on Saturday. Both matches were conference games.
The ladies were dominant against the team from Shoshoni – going 3 and 0 (25-15, 25-17 and 25-16). Against Greybull, the Lady Cats won the first game by two points (27-25), and then proceeded to drop two close games, by scores of 26-24 and 28-26, respectfully.
Flashing their skill level, the ladies evened things up by winning the fourth game - by a comfortable margin of ten points (25-15). The final game, however, was a nail-biter, and saw the Lady Cats go down by just two points (16-14).
Commenting on the week, Coach Shannon Hill, stated: "We played very well against Shoshoni, and we didn't play badly against Greybull. Greybull is a good team, but we have the skills to be unstoppable. Against Greybull we played a little tentative at times, and that always hurts. We are still learning how to play to win, and not just reacting to how the other team is performing."
This week, the team will be at home - facing Rocky Mountain (9-12-3) on Friday the 4th of October, and will then see Powell at home on Saturday. Both teams will test the Lady Cats mentally.
Rocky Mountain sits tied with Thermopolis for 2nd place in the quad – just behind Greybull – and lost last week to Greybull by 3 to 2. Powell competes in Class 3A so, while the match will not be a conference match, the Lady Cats will have an opportunity to display their talents against a 3A team.
