Help restore Memorial Avenue of Flags

As many of you know, our beloved Memorial Avenue of Flags, a cherished tribute to those who have served our country, suffered significant damage during the recent windstorm on Flag Day. The flags and poles, which stand as symbols of honor and remembrance, were torn and displaced, leaving our community’s heart a little less bright. The Memorial Avenue of Flags has always been a place for reflection, gratitude, and pride. It is not only a tribute to our veterans but also a gathering point for commemorative events that bring us together as a community. Unfortunately, the storm has left us with a daunting task ahead: restoring the flags and poles ensuring this important memorial continues to inspire future generations.

To that end, we are reaching out to you, our neighbors, for support. We are organizing a fundraising campaign to cover the costs, of approximately $12,000, to replace the damaged flags and poles. No contribution is too small; every dollar will go directly towards restoring Memorial Avenue of Flags.

How You Can Help:

Monetary Donations: Any member can accept donations or you can write a check to “Memorial Avenue of Flags”. Donation locations will be placed around town to accept your gracious gifts.

We are holding a community fundraiser. Join us for a Halloween Party/Dance on Saturday, October 12 at the Thermopolis VFW #2281 from 7 p.m. to midnight. There will be food, activities and a chance to donate on-site. Share this message with friends and family. The more people who know about our efforts, the greater our chance of success.

Our goal is to have the flags restored and standing proudly by November 11, 2024, just in time for Veterans Day. Together, we can ensure that Memorial Avenue of Flags remains a powerful testament to our community’s commitment to honoring those who have served.

Thank you for your generosity and support. Let’s come together to restore this important symbol of our community.
