Douglas H. Kimsey

1941-2024

Douglas H. Kimsey, 84, of Thermopolis, Wyo., entered into God's kingdom on September 24, 2024.

He was born July 5, 1941, in Durango, Col., to Hoke and Josephine Kimsey. He spent his early years on the family ranch in Colarado where he learned an appreciation for hard work and the value of a dollar.

On a hunting trip while in the Air Force he met Joni Blom and they where married soon after. To this union was born one son Mike. They later divorced and he married Rhonda Kimsey.

For the better part of Doug's life he was engaged in the livestock and oilfield industries. Horses were a big part of his life and he loved to be around them when ever possible. He spent many joyful days hunting with his family and friends. He was also an avid collector of anything old but especially bits and spurs. Some of his best memories involved hunting, fishing, horses and being around family.

Doug is survived by his wife, Rhonda Kimsey; son, Mike (Lisa) Kimsey; step-daughter, Jamie (JW) Rudio; grandsons, Grant (Crystal) Kimsey, Jack (Justine) Kimsey, and Walker Rainey; six great-grand children, River, Wyn, Camden, Beverley, Jess and one on the way; sisters, Alice Kennedy and Rita Dennison; ex - wife, Joni Kimsey; and many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hoke and Josephine Kimsey; and brother, Delbert (Janette) Kimsey.

Funeral services will be held at the AGAPE/ Set Free Church in Thermopolis, Wyo., on October 11 at 10 a.m. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to AGAPE/Set Free Church in Thermopolis.
