At approximately 4 p.m. Tuesday September 17, the Thermopolis Fire Department was dispatched to Buffalo Creek Road for a reported structure fire. Firefighters arrived to find a two-vehicle garage/shop with active fire in the roof rafters.
Firefighters attacked and quickly extinguished the fire. No injuries were reported as a result of this fire.
Firefighters responded to the scene with 4 units: two engines, one water tender, and a rescue truck. Fire crews were assisted by Mortimore Ambulance Service, and Hot Springs County Sheriff’s Office.
The cause of the fire appears to be accidental but remains under investigation.
The Thermopolis Fire Department reminds everyone that A working smoke alarm in all living and working spaces will help to make a safe escape by providing early warning. Also, the most important action in any structure fire is to get out and stay out.
