There will be a Cookie Jar Auction to benefit the Logan and Sesi Shumway Family and their premature twins on Saturday, September 28 at 6 p.m. at the fair building.
The Shumway twin boys were born on July 31 are 29 weeks gestation. The family said, “They have also been in the world for a month now. Both babies have reached so many milestones and grown so much already. Koa is 1 lb 14.5 oz, which is 6.5 oz higher than his birth weight. Zion is 2 lbs 10 oz which is 13 oz higher than his birth weight. Both babies have been extubated and are still needing respiratory support through a ventilator. As of now, they are very stable and go through many ups and downs daily, but for the most part, they are headed in the positive direction. These two still have quite some time before we can think about taking them home in November, but we’re so proud of the things they have conquered this far!”
The funds will go to help a young, newly married couple trying to start a family. Anything donation wise will help with traveling, lodging, and food. Clay and Amberli Shumway and Paul and Nancy Jensen are grandparents.
Drop off cookie jars at the fair building after noon or drop off early at The Shoppe Floral & Gifts.
Dinner by donation to be provided by We’ve Got Your Six Portions.
There is also a Go Fund Me page to “Help Sesi and Logan Through This Challenging Time.”
