Donations for deployed military members accepted
There are four members of our community deployed with the Wyoming National Guard 2-300 to areas in the Middle East. This unit deploys approximately every four years. Those serving from Thermopolis and Hot Springs County are SPC Clint Strawser, SPC Dylan Todd, SPC Talen Steinmetz and SGT Brad Becerra. American Legion 18 is accepting donations for care packages to send to them for the next 10 months. If you are interested in donating, contact Suzanne Lambert at (307) 690-8973 or drop off donations at the Thermopolis-Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce. There are guidelines on what can be sent, contact Lambert for more information.
Bobcat homecoming week
Bobcats of all ages in Hot Springs County School District will be celebrating homecoming next week. Ralph Witters Elementary, Thermopolis Middle School and Hot Springs County High School students will all have a variety of dress-up days and activities throughout the school week. Bobcat cross county will be holding their invite on Thursday, Oct. 3 with middle school starting at 2 p.m. and high school 3 p.m. The JV and varsity Lady Cats will host Rocky Mountain on Friday, October 4 with games at 2 and 3 p.m. in the high school gym. The Thermopolis FFA has partnered with Bunks BBQ to bring ribs back for the homecoming dinner. They will begin serving at 4 p.m. near the high school football field. The varsity Bobcat football players will host Cokeville on Friday with the game kicking off at 5 p.m. The homecoming dance will be Saturday, Oct. 5 beginning at 9 p.m. in the Ag building.
School board candidate forum
A Hot Springs County School Board Candidate Form will be held Monday, Sept. 30 at 6:30 p.m. at the Hot Springs County Fair Building. Come and hear from the candidates! The event is non-partisan and open to the public. Sponsored by the Hot Springs County Republican Party.

Dome Tour
Red Dirt Master Gardeners is hosting a Geodesic Dome tour and ribbon cutting on Monday, Sept. 30 from 6-7 p.m. at the Community Garden located east of Hot Springs Health. The public is welcome to attend.
A mini-grant from Rooted in Wyoming helped support the construction of garden beds within the geodesic dome at the RDMG Community Garden. The dome will extend the growing season for community garden members.
Candidate forum
A meet the candidates public forum will be held on Thursday, Oct. 3 at 6 p.m. at the Thermopolis Middle School. Each candidate will have a chance to give a two minute introduction and there will be time to visit with the candidates. All candidates registered to run in the general election have been invited.
The event will be live-streamed on the Chamber’s Facebook page. Suggested office specific questions, not candidate specific, can be dropped off at the chamber.
