HSH Foundation golf tournament Saturday

Hot Springs Health Foundation is excited to announce its annual Golf Tournament, which is scheduled for Saturday, September 7, with tee time at 9 a.m. Participants are encouraged to arrive earlier at 7:30 a.m. to eat breakfast together. The tournament is 18 holes, playing the front and back of the course.

One of the organizers and board member Brad Basse said, “It’s a fun fundraiser for the Hot Springs Health Foundation…We want to carry on the tradition of Tom Sullivan Sr., who was really important to the foundation through the course of his service on that board and he did a fantastic job of organizing that tournament every year.”

Basse added, “The Foundation’s goal is to match the amount of funds raised during last year’s tournament which exceeded $11,000. We hope this year’s tournament will be just as successful.

We’ve solicited sponsorships for the event, so we have tournament sponsors and hole sponsors, local businesses, our regional businesses, and businesses that are important to the hospital have contributed.”

There are a variety of tournament sponsorship levels. During the tournament, they will sell mulligans for an amount yet to be determined.

Basse also said, “I think we’ve got room for plenty more teams. We’ve got like six teams signed up now. It should be a great day with a light breakfast and then lunch afterward. It’s set up so that the novice golfer can compete as well and win. We have opportunities to buy drives and buy mulligans. These are kind of modified rules.”

All proceeds from the golf tournament will benefit the Hot Springs Health Foundation, whose mission is to support Hot Springs Health and provide quality health and healing to our community. The donations received help to fund needed medical equipment and programs for the hospital and clinic.

Since 1995, the Foundation has donated almost $300,000 to Hot Springs Health, including fetal heart monitors, wheelchairs, glucometers, 3D Digital Mammography, higher education scholarships, inpatient room improvements, and our popular baby pillow program for newborn babies.

If you are interested in participating in the golf tournament, please contact Laura Budd, Foundation Director, at 864-8104. Tournament registrations can also be found at the Thermopolis Golf Course.
