Official campaign advertising guidelines

The Wyoming Election Division Campaign Guide explains the requirements of W.S. 22-25-110. Some ads fall under #4 and do not require a paid for by disclosure. Recently, some ads ran in the IR that were determined to fall under #4. IR staff contacted the Hot Springs County Clerk, who in turn contacted an election official with the Secretary of State’s office, and it was determined the ads in question fall under #4, although they are in opposition to a candidate or candidates. The ads were paid for by an individual who is not a candidate or affiliated with a Political Action Committee or organization.
