Judith Ann Harvey

1940-2024

Judith Ann (McLaughlin) Harvey, age 83, passed away suddenly at her home in Worland on August 2, 2024. Born in Thermopolis, Wyo., Judith was the beloved daughter of Wilson Francis and Mary Frances (Hooley) McLaughlin and sister to Barbara.

Judith was known for her strong personality, clarity of purpose, and unwavering determination. Her life was filled with adventure, beginning with her childhood in Wyoming and Montana as her father's work as a civil engineer took the family to various places. She completed her high school education in Santa Maria, Calif., in 1958. Her passion for helping others, particularly children, led her to many opportunities such Foster Care, Youth Counselor, CASA Worker, and Social Worker at places such as Northwest BOCES.

In the late 1960s, Judith had a passion for Tupperware, her family deemed her "The Tupperware Queen", selling enough to earn a brand-new station wagon. She declined it due to its blue color--an unfortunate hue in her view. She was also skilled in sewing, crocheting, quilting, was a certified Master Gardener and an avid hiker. She hiked in many places, but her proudest conquest was the Appalachian Trail.

She loved her family, and it was her favorite reason to travel and have new adventures. Driving was her favorite way to get there.

As she grew older, her adventurous spirit led her to move from Texas to Wyoming in 1995, where she enjoyed a unique lifestyle of Resort work until 2017 in places like the Grand Tetons, Yellowstone National Park, and Alaska. In between Resort Work she completed two bachelor's Degrees, in Anthropology and Social Work.

Her faith was a cornerstone of her life. As a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Judith cherished her service in various callings, with a special fondness for family history and missionary work. She proudly served a full-time mission to London England in her 60s.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and grandson, John Oliver Noyes.

Survivors include her sister, Barbara Lawrence of Texas; children, Donald (Grace) Noyes of Texas, Deborah Sweet of Wyoming, Michael (Cheri) Noyes of West Virginia, and Brian (Victoria) Noyes of Georgia; grandchildren, Daniel Bryan of Thermopolis, Jessica "Sunnie" Sweet, Eric (Rachel) Bryan, Ashley (Bubba) McWaters, Mariah and Jeremiah Noyes, Riley, Reagan and Reese Noyes; and great-grandchildren, Josephine, Christopher and Joel Bryan, Katie, Grady and Michael McWaters, Kiera and Declan Bryan, and Mason Mosley.

Memorial services will be held 10 a.m. on Friday, October 4, 2024, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Thermopolis. Online condolences may be made at http://www.bryantfuneralhomeonline.com.
