OEB to be featured on America's Best Restaurants

On August 8, America's Best Restaurants (ABR) visited One Eyed Buffalo Brewing Company (OEB) in downtown Thermopolis and filmed a variety of subjects, including some of their food and they held an interview with owners Binky and Jennifer Fisher.

An anonymous source nominated OEB to America's Best Restaurants. After a research process, they selected OEB to be featured on their show. Jennifer Fisher said this recognition comes from "eight years of hard work and dedicated staff. And we were nominated to be on this show....We don't even know who nominated us. We're super excited to have them here. Very honored and humbled, actually, for them to come to little ole Thermopolis, Wyoming. They travel all over the country featuring places that you should eat at."

Regarding the outcome Fisher hopes for, she said, "Just to showcase all of our hard work, the One Eyed Buffalo and obviously, the hard work of all of my staff. I mean, because every successful business is only successful by your staff, right? Some of these have been working for years and years, and it shows. It pays off. They're passionate and I'm passionate about it. We can put Thermopolis on the map and Hot Springs County. We have such a unique little place here, and I'm kind of happy it's getting more discovered. I'm kind of sad too because I love our small-town feel. But I think it's awesome that people are starting to realize what Thermopolis is all about. We have a lot to offer. Schools, the Dinosaur Center, just a lot of history here. I think it's great."

America's Best Restaurants' show host J Russell and videographer Nick Mammone spend significant time shooting a variety of scenes at OEB. First, they featured Kylie Fisher, cooking food in the kitchen at the grill. Russell shot footage of him exploring the places in the restaurant, sharing with the audience how excited he was to be there. Mammone filmed multiple dishes of OEB's food in nicely lit atmospheres. And finally, Russell interviewed OEB owners Binky and Jennifer Fisher and tasted some of their food.

Russell explained ABR and how they are a marketing company. He said, "Let's say somebody may have the best burger in all of Wyoming, but the country doesn't know about that type of thing. We're putting them on the map, letting them know that, hey, here goes some of the best foods out there and then why come out to Wyoming? There are the hot springs, but you gotta go to a place to eat."

Russell continued and said, "I'm just going to talk to Jenn about their history. She told me that her staff is very important to her. Just interviewed one of her chef's right now that has been here for like five plus years. So it really speaks about the camaraderie and just the work environment...that really speaks volumes when you hear stuff like that. I'm going to be trying some more food...I just had the Philly right now, and that's probably one of the best dishes that I've tasted on the show. That's gonna be dinner tonight."

Russell added, "The thing I want to tell people is, if you ever want to be on the show, there are three ways to get on the show. First, someone who tried some food can nominate a restaurant. Second, a restaurant owner can say they deserve to be on the show. Third, ABR can find a restaurant and ask them to be on the show. They can be reached at https://americasbestrestaurants.com/ to nominate. Restaurants from across the country are featured on ABR's website by state. OEB will be included in their Wyoming's section.

The ABR crew will be returning to Thermopolis the end of the month to feature 7 Lazy S Cafe and Bar.
