The Thermopolis-Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce held their annual Demolition Derby on August 10 at the fairgrounds.
When all the smashing and crashing was over, Thermopolis resident Chase Mead captured first place in the winners heat and earned $3,000 plus a trophy. Second place was Peyton Gonzales earning $1,500 plus a trophy and third place was Bryce Harvey earning $800 plus a trophy. Mad Dog winner was Chase Mead earning $1,000 plus a trophy.
For the Truck Derby, Matt Hurley earned first place and $1,500 plus a trophy. Second place was Riley Shaffer earning $750 plus a trophy and third place was Blake Williams earning $500 plus a trophy. Mad Dog Winner was Matt Hurley earning $500 plus a trophy.
For the Gut-n-Go Class, Joseph Fauver earned first place and $1,000 plus a trophy. Second place was Cody Hensley earning $500 plus a trophy. Mad Dog winner was Cody Hensley to earn $500 plus a trophy.
Additionally, the Prettiest Car contest winner was 5M driven by Blake Williams. The Power Wheels drivers were Charlie Mead, winner; Lincoln Harvey, Nolan Smith; and Wyatt Schmuck.
