Answers to why you have not seen fair results in the IR

Hot Springs County Fair has wrapped up for another year and all of us at the IR are looking forward to recognizing the accomplishments of our local youths.

Each year for many decades we have published official fair results grouped with several photos taken during the week. We plan to do the same this year, in the August 22 issue. The staff at the IR has been criticized regarding the delay in publishing fair results and photos this year, so we want to explain the process to our readers.

Those in charge of compiling the information are working hard to finalize the fair results. According to Hot Springs County Fair Board Chairwoman Billie Jo Norsworthy, “There are several transitions, including new programs and training, that are involved this year.” These have contributed to the delay in processing and finalizing the results.

Once the IR has received the finalized results, they will be published in the newspaper. All involved are asking for your patience as the process continues.
