4-Hers compete at State Shoot in Douglas

Over 600 4-H members from around Wyoming showcased their skills at the Wyoming State Shoot in Douglas July 11-14 in archery and gun categories including .22 rifle, .22 pistol, shotgun, air rifle, air pistol and muzzleloader.

Hot Springs County 4-H members who competed in the event include juniors Gage McCumber, Erica Lambert and Natalie Lambert; intermediates Colton Blakesley, Nate King and Logan Stewart and seniors Hayden Overfield, Logan Dafoe, Mac McCumber and Annalyn Sharp.

The 4-H shooting sports program gives youths an opportunity to learn safe and responsible use of firearms and archery equipment including sound decision-making, self-discipline and concentration.

In 4-H shooting sports, instructors promote the highest standards of ethical behavior, sportsmanship and safety.
