Karen Elizabeth Rickman, 64, passed away in Casper, Wyo., July 8, 2024, after a time of failing health.
Born April 14, 1960, in Martinez, Calif. She was one of two children born to Lonnie and Gayla (Valentine) Newell. Raised in Martinez, she attended college in Las Vegas, Nev., with a degree in business and finance where she pursued a career in banking for most of her adult life. She had her first child, Kenneth, while living in Bakersfield, Calif., working as an administrative assistant to a bank president.
She met the love of her life, Will, in California and spent 30+ years together. She was known for her big hugs and love of helping others. All that knew her called her Momma Karen. She will be missed dearly.
Those cherishing her memory include sons, Nicholas Rickman (Vern) of Utah, Mathew Rickman (Ashley) of Colorado, Daniel Rickman (Briana) of Montana, and Kenneth Hammersley of California; daughters, Stephanie Blakley (Quinton) of Wyoming and Samantha Norman (Trevor) of Wyoming; sister, Valerie Newell of Tennessee; 12 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Gayla Newell.
A graveside service was held on July 16 at Monument Hill Cemetery.
