Concerns for circus animals

I am writing to bring attention to what I believe is the inherent cruelty and danger associated with animal circuses. In my opinion, the use of wild animals in circuses not only perpetuates the exploitation and suffering of animals but also poses significant risks to the safety of the audience members.

According to my research, animals in circuses are often subjected to brutal training methods, confined to cramped and unnatural living conditions, and forced to perform tricks that go against their natural behaviors. I believe this exploitation and abuse have no place in a civilized society that values compassion and respect for animals.

Furthermore, I feel the use of wild animals in circuses presents a serious safety risk to people. These animals, who are often kept in stressful and unnatural environments, can exhibit unpredictable and dangerous behaviors, putting both handlers and spectators at risk of harm. I have found information on numerous incidents of animal attacks and escapes that have been reported in circuses across the country, highlighting the urgent need to prioritize the safety of humans.

I urge readers to boycott any animal circuses that come to your town and join the call for a ban on the use of wild animals in circuses.

I encourage people to support animal-free circuses that showcase the incredible talents of human performers without endangering the lives of animals or spectators.

Sincerely,

Madhu Anderson, Green River
