UW president, students speak

On Tuesday May 14, representatives from the University of Wyoming visited Thermopolis at the Hot Springs Hotel & Spa.

Department of Geology and Geophysics Professor John Kaszuba gave a brief presentation about the Big Spring in Hot Springs State Park. Kaszuba reported that "The water has gotten cooler by about four degrees Fahrenheit over the past 50 to 65 years. It's gotten less salty, but the flow is up over the past 18 years."

Barton Stam, Ag & Natural Resources Extension Educator of the UW Extension office in Hot Springs County gave a presentation of all their various activities and how they do more than just ag related functions. Stam also asked the community to consider volunteering to help out youth in their various interests.

Hot Springs County High School graduates Tyler Kay and Alyssa Halls testified about their education at the University of Wyoming. Kay discussed his work and being a recent graduate in the Communications department. Halls talked about her travels around the world and her goals in continuing her education at the University. 

The University of Wyoming President Ed Seidel also and discussed their efforts to prepare students for the modern economy and boost entrepreneurism and the state's economy.
