Memorial Day grave decorations

Decorations may be placed on graves at Riverside and Monument Hill cemeteries commencing at 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 23 and must be removed before 8 a.m. on June 3. The district will irrigate if necessary.

Secure all decorations so they are not blown away in the wind. The cemetery district is not responsible for decorations. 

Volunteers needed for raising of the flags

Volunteers are needed to help with the raising of the Avenue of Flags on Memorial Day at Monument Hill Cemetery beginning at 7 p.m., weather permitting.

The 1890s Riders will be putting the flags up and the lowering of the flags will begin at 5 p.m. The public can view the flags from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

3-on-3 Basketball Tournament this weekend

The Bobcat Booster club is preparing to host their annual Hot City Summer Slam 3-on-3 basketball tournament May 25-26 in the parking lot of Hot Springs County High School

Proceeds from the tournament will benefit Hot Springs County School District #1 sports. Spectators, remember to bring your chairs, sunscreen and umbrellas. 

Boy Scout rummage sale Friday, Saturday

The Annual Boy Scouts Rummage Sale Fundraiser will be held on Friday, May 24 from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. and on Saturday, May 25 from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Community Hall behind the Federated Community Church at Sixth and Big Horn Streets.

Saturday from noon to 1 p.m. will be dollar a bag time. There will be something for everyone. Proceeds go to support the local scholarships, PEO Chapter AV.

County wide rummage sale planned

Residents in Hot Springs County will hold a county-wide Rummage Sale that includes locations in Thermopolis, East Thermopolis, Kirby and the surrounding areas.

The sale will be on Saturday, June 8 from 8 a.m. -5 p.m. There is a $10 fee for vendors to cover advertising and printing of maps. To be included on the map sign up by May 24. Maps will be available beginning June 3.
