Track standouts qualify for state track meet

The Bobcat track teams traveled to Mountain View this past weekend to compete in the 3A West Regional Tournament.

At the event, both the Bobcats and the Lady Cats qualified several team standouts for this week's State Championship Track Meet to be held in Casper on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Four Lady Cats qualified in individual competition, and two teams qualified in relay events.

In individual events, Ina King qualified for state in the 100 meter dash and the triple jump. Davdine King qualified in the 400 meter dash and the high jump. Jayda Griffin qualified in the 1600 meter run. Brooklynn Williams qualified in the pole vault.

The Lady Cats qualified teams in both the 4x100 meter relay (Davdine King, Lilly Quintanilla, Brooklynn Williams and Ina King), and the 4x400 meter relay (Davdine King, Lilly Quintanilla, Brooklynn Williams and Jayda Griffin).

For the Bobcats, seven team members qualified in individual events, while three teams qualified in relay events.

Seth Needham qualified in the 100 meter dash, and in the 400 meter dash. Delmonico Dukes qualified in the 200 meter dash, and in the long jump. Cody Bomengen qualified in the high jump, and in the triple jump. Cole Keller qualified in the 400 meter dash, and in the triple jump. Jaydeth Elder qualified in the 1600 meter run. Teancum Gevas qualified in the 400 meter run. Anthony Cheatum qualified in the discus throw.

In relay events, the Bobcats qualified teams for the 4x100 meter relay (Delmonico Dukes, Seth Needham, Zane Stam and Robert Buckner); in the 4x400 meter relay (Seth Needham, Cole Keller, Logan Dafoe and Delmonico Dukes); and in the 4x800 meter relay (Ryan Arends, Chris Arends, Logan Dafoe and Cole Keller).

Understandably, coach, Boone Bowker is proud of his athletes and said he looks forward to great things from all of the competitors at the 3A State Championships.
