Big Springs FFA Chapter holds annual banquet

The Thermopolis Middle School Big Springs FFA Chapter held their annual banquet last week recognizing both FFA members and community members for their achievements and contributions.

Several FFA members were recognized at the banquet including state champion meats team members Logan Johnson, Tyler Morris, Baer McPhie and Mac McCumber and members of the high overall junior high poultry team Tyler Morris, Reagan Huckfeldt, Mac McCumber and Clint Kimes.Ann Allen, Paige Jones, Ameila Strickland, Mac McCumber and Baer McPhie will get to represent the local chapter at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis this fall.

Special member awards given out included:

7th grade leadership - Amelia Strickland

8th grade leadership - Tyler Morris

Outstanding community service - Clint Kimes

Top fundraiser - Tyler Morris

Discovery Degree Elite member - Mac McCumber

The following individuals were elected into honorary membership: Justin and Kaila Jones, Quinton and Cassie Hetzel, Matt and Tricia McPhie, Colter and Linda McCumber, Travis and Ariela Allen, Darren Leube, Dustin Hunt, Clay VanAntwerp, Will Farrell, John Gerrals and Britton Van Heule.

Phillip Scheel was recognized as the Joey Johnson memorial recipient.
