Sixth grade girls first at track conference

The Thermopolis Middle School Track Team wrapped of their regular season last Saturday at the Yellowstone Conference meet held in Thermopolis.

The 6th grade girls team brought home 1st place with a total of 140 points beating 2nd place Cody with 136.50 points. The 7th grade girls were 4th with 63 points and 8th grade girls were 5th with 54 points.

On the boys side, the 6th grade boys had 37.5 points for 6th place, 7th grade boys were 4th with 65.50 points and the eight grade boys team finished third with 89 points.

In the annual coaches 4x100 meter relay, Thermopolis coaches came in second with a time of 1:01.97.

Coach Katie Despain said "We're really proud of all the hard work that all of the athletes showed this season! The improvements that were made were phenomenal and we're excited to see them continue be successful in the future!"

Several team members qualified for the Best of the Best meet in Lander held on Tuesday and those results will appear in next week's edition.
