Rodeo club members nearing finals

Hot Springs County High School Rodeo club members competed in Newcastle last week. The junior high state finals are set for this week in Gillette and the high school finals will be June 3-8 in Rock Springs.

Bridger Peil had a great finish in tie down calf roping on Saturday with a time of 10.750 to earn second place out of 35 competitors.

Other Saturday high school results in Newcastle include:

Rylee Agar had a time of 17.068 in barrel racing for 14th place and a 22.445 in pole bending for 10th place.

Taylor Agar had a time of 17.707 in barrel racing and a 22.445 in pole bending for 13th place.

Mesa Longwell had a time of 18.244 in barrel racing

Kamryn Farrell had a time of 22.724 in barrel racing, a time of 14.83 in breakaway roping for 17th place and a 10.20 in goat tying for 12th place.

Sunday results include:

Taylor Agar had a time of 18.063 in barrel racing and a time of 27.810 in pole bending for 14th place.

Rylee Agar had a time of 22.097 in barrel racing and a time of 26.704 in pole bending for 11th place.

Kamryn Farrell had a time of 22.415 in barrel racing

Mesa Longwell had a time of 24.120 in barrel racing.

Bridger Peil and Jhett Longwell had a time of 9.31 to bring home a 3rd place in team roping. Peil had a time of 12.13 in tie down calf roping to earn 4th place for the day.

In junior high competition, Hoyt Peil had a time of 17.69 in goat tying on Friday to take 6th place. On Saturday he had a 13.9, again for 6th place.

He and his parter, Cruz Viles of Cody, had a time of 27.510 in the team roping for a 4th place finish.
