Bobcats host home track meet prior to regionals

This past week, Hot Springs County High School played host to teams from seventeen Wyoming schools, in the final week of the regular track season. While the weather had been somewhat unsettled leading up to the event, conditions improved sufficiently to allow the teams to compete last Friday.

Both the Bobcats, and the Lady Cats displayed a competitive effort in the various events, with results that placed the Lady Cats in fifth place with 47 points and the Bobcats in third place with 101 points. Lovell led the boy's team scoring 109, while Worland took the honors in the girl's team scoring at 165.

Highlights for the Lady Cats:

Davdine King second in the 100 meter dash (12.87; second (tie) high jump (5-01.00.

Brooklynn Williams fourth in the 400 meter dash (1:02.99) and fifth in pole vault 8-06.00).

Jayda Griffin sixth in the 1600 meter run (5:59.04).

Ina King first in triple jump (35-04.25).

Fifth in the 4X100 meter relay (53.03): Ina King, Davdine King, Lilly Quintanilla, Brooklynn Williams.

Third in the 4x400 meter relay (4:25.59): Davdine King, Lilly Quintanilla, Jayda Griffin, Brooklynn Williams.

Highlights for the Bobcats:

Seth Needham second in the 100 meter dash (11.54) and first in the 400 meter dash (51.03).

Delmonico Dukes second (tie) in the 200 meter dash (24.14) and third in long jump (19-10.00).

Cole Keller fourth in the 400 meter dash (53.26) and fourth in triple jump (40-11.25).

Logan Dafoe sixth in the 400 meter dash (55.07).

Jaydeth Elder third in the 1600 meter run (4:46.43) and third in the 3200 meter run (10:37.94).

Cody Bomengen third in high jump (5-10.00); seventh in triple jump (39-05.00).

Davian Martinez sixth (tie) in high jump (5-06.00).

Armani Dukes third in discus throw (127-08).

Fifth in the 4x100 meter relay (45.47): Seth Needham, Zane Stam, Robert Buckner, Delmonico Dukes.

First in the 4x400 meter relay (3:33.94): Delmonico Dukes, Cole Keller, Logan Dafoe, Seth Needham.

First in the 4x800 meter relay (8:35.25): Ryan Arends, Chris Arends, Logan Dafoe, Cole Keller.

Fourth in the 1600 sprint medley (4:04.50): Cody Bomengen, Jarek Jeffs, Jordan Garrison, Teancum Gevas.

The Bobcats and Lady Cats will travel this week to the southwest part of the state, to compete in the regional championships hosted by Mountain View High School.
