Harvey Michael Simmons, 52, passed away on May 3, 2024, at the Worland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Harvey was born on April 10, 1972, in San Jose, Calif., the youngest child born to Kent William and Gloria Lynn (Hull) Simmons.
He grew up in American Fork, Utah. Following his graduation from Lehi High School Harvey served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in North Carolina. In his younger years, he loved spending time at amusement parks, swimming, and spending time with his two closest friends, Jared and Thorp. The family moved to Thermopolis in 1977, where he worked beside his brother, Kenny, cleaning motels. Harvey had a love for movies. He especially enjoyed anything starring Jimmy Stewart or made by Alfred Hitchcock. His favorite movie was Casablanca. His dream was to one day direct movies of his own.
Harvey had a special bond with children, they would gravitate towards his infectious smile. His love for others was apparent. He loved his family more than anything and was known as a mama's boy. He cared deeply for his siblings and was always willing to help them when they needed an extra hand.
Harvey was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his mother, Gloria Lynn Simmons of Thermopolis; brother, Kenny Simmons of Worland; sister, Adella Simmons of Thermopolis; nieces: Selena Simmons, Allyssa Simmons, Esperanza Allen and Summer Lujan; nephew, Enrique Allen; and great-nephews, Joseph and Felix.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 8 at the Bryant Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside Services will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, May 9 at Riverside Cemetery in Thermopolis. Online condolences may be made at http://www.bryantfuneralhomeonline.com.
