The Town of Thermopolis will be holding its annual Spring Clean-Up on May 13-18. All residents and business owners are encouraged to clean their property in preparation for the upcoming summer season.
According to the Town’s Director of Public Works Basil Sorensen and Assistant to Mayor Jim Jeunehomme, four 20 feet dumpsters will be located at these addresses for residents: 14th Street next to the tennis courts, 9th Street and Big Horn, 8th Street and Amoretti, and the 200 block of 2nd Street.
There will also be a Free Dump Day at the town landfill for all town and county residents. It will be Saturday, May 18 from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Jeunehomme and Sorenson note that the town landfill rules still apply. Also, do not put in dumpsters: tires, appliances with Freon, no concrete, gravel, or dirt. No hazardous waste, such as oil, paint, batteries, or solvents. They also ask that if someone cuts down an entire tree to not put it in the dumpsters, just take it to the landfill.
The town is pleased to provide this event once a year, but if the public shows interest and wants to suggest having a second clean-up day, both Sorensen and Jeunehomme are open to the town’s input and hear their ideas.
