The Hot Springs County High School track team traveled to Buffalo last Friday to compete in the Buffalo Not-a-Twilight Track Meet. The home team, Buffalo, won the girls team event with a score of 120, while the team from Thunder Basin won the boys team event with a score of 164.5.
With four of their stand-out teammates away at the Wyoming Track Classic, the Lady Cats finished in ninth Place, scoring 25 points, while the Bobcats finished in eighth place, with a score of 36.
Highlights for the Lady Cats:
Brooklynn Williams second in the 400 meter dash, 1:04.18 and third in pole vault 8-00.00.
Jayda Griffin sixth in the 800 meter run, 2:47.07 and second in the 1600 meter run 6:05.55.
Highlights for the Bobcats:
Cole Keller fourth in the 400 meter dash, 54.45.
Logan Dafoe seventh in the 400 meter dash, 55.56.
Cody Bomengen fifth in high jump, 5-10.00.
Chris Arends seventh (tie) in pole vault, 10-00.00.
Delmonico Dukes fourth in long jump, 18-09.50.
Anthony Cheatham sixth in discus throw, 123-11.
In the 4x100 meter relay, the boys finished seventh, 48.09: 1) Delmonico Dukes; 2) Zane Stam; 3) Cody Bomengen; and 4) Robert Buckner.
In the 4x400 meter relay, the boys finished fifth, 4:07.53: 1) Delmonico Dukes; 2) Logan Dafoe; 3) Chris Arends; and 4) Cole Keller.
In the 1600 sprint medley, the boys finished first, 4:08.22: 1) Zane Stam; 2) Armani Dukes; 3) Jordan Garrison: and 4) Teancum Gevas.
This week - the final week of the regular season - the Bobcats and Lady Cats will be at home hosting the Bobcat Invite. Twelve teams are scheduled to compete in the event, which will be held at Hot Springs County High School LeRoy Hayes Field on Friday, May 3.
