Golf team competes at Powell

The Hot Springs County High School golf team was in Powell last Friday for the Powell High School Spring Invite. Both the Bobcats, and the Lady Cats finished in the top five in team scoring - with the Lady Cats finishing in fourth place (322) and the Bobcats ending the day in fifth place (386).

The Tournament was won by Lander on the boys side (340), and by Lovell on the girls side (297).

For the Bobcats, Hayden Overfield shot 81, which was good for a third place finish. Hayden Johnson shot 95 (18th); Ian Locke shot 101 (tie 24th); Camden Weyer carded a 109 (tie 31st) and and Zerrian Stone finished at 124 (43rd).

The boys Champion was Hunter Kihn, from Lander, who carded 73.

For the Lady Cats, Lilly Johnson shot a 102 (tie 7th); Maggie Landon shot 109 (12th); Madison Shaffer shot 111 (14th); Austin Slagle shot 116 (16th) and Dazlynn Hunt carded a 135 (22nd).

The Girls Champion was Erika Cook of Lovell, who shot a nice 77.

The golf team traveled to The Golf Club at Devils Tower in Hulett on Monday and then they will be up at the Olive Glenn Golf Club in Cody, on Friday, May 3.
