Lady Cats track team up next in Buffalo

The Hot Springs County High School Lady Cats Track Team were in Shoshoni on Friday, April 19, 2024 for the Shoshoni Invite track meet. In perhaps one of the largest track meets in the state, nineteen women’s teams competed in a very long day of track and field events. The Lady Cats finished with a team total of 20 points, which was good enough to secure an eleventh place finish. The team from Lander won the event, with a team score of 152 points.

Highlights:

Ina King, first in triple jump, 33-03.00.

Brooklynn Williams, seventh in 400 meter dash, 1:05.61.

1600 sprint medley, second, 4:52.33: 1) Ina King; 2) Brooklyn Williams; 3) Davdine King; and 4) Jayda Griffin.

The outstanding efforts this season of Ina King and Davdine King have qualified each of those Lady Cat standouts to compete at the Track Classic, which will be held at Kelly Walsh High School in Casper next week. Well done, and good luck to them both.

Coach Boone Bowker commented: “It’s good to have the Track Classic back, only the top eight competitors from around the state get invited to that event, so it’s a real accomplishment to get there. I’m very proud of both Davdine and Ina for their work to qualify for that event.”

This week the Lady Cats will, again, be on the road to compete in Buffalo on Friday, April, 26.
