The Wyoming Historical Society (WHS) will be holding their 70th Annual Trek Hot Springs County June 20-23.
The WHS holds these treks each year at different locations around the state to celebrate our rich history and explore the fascinating stories of Wyoming’s past.
Immerse yourself in a weekend filled with captivating exhibits, engaging talks and interactive activities. From cowboys to pioneers, discover the remarkable tales that shaped the area surrounding “the World’s Largest Mineral Hot Springs.”
Whether you’re a history buff or just curious, this in-person event promises an unforgettable experience. Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to connect with Wyoming’s heritage.
Registration will be from 2-5 p.m. on Thursday, June 20 at Hot Springs County Museum and Cultural Center, with a reception to follow. Friday’s program will be on cowboys, outlaws and the Yellowstone Highway. There will also be tours of historic downtown Thermopolis and various historic presentations. Friday night, there will be a dinner in Hot Springs State Park.
On Saturday, featured treks will include visits to the Gebo coal mine area, Legend Rock Petroglyphs, Hamilton Dome, the Wyoming Dinosaur Center and more. A dinner will be held in Hot Springs State Park that evening.
Discussion and send off will be Sunday morning.
