Petition for the special district ballot

The petition at the Hot Springs County Senior Center is simply to put the question of a special district on the ballot.

Then if Democracy works correctly, people vote for or against it in the August primary. This petition is only to get the word out there, get it on the ballot and the voters say yes or no in August.

A district would affect only property owners. If you don’t own property, you don’t pay a thing. Property owners would pay $1.59 per month on a $100,000 home and, in my opinion, that is not much.

Once it gets on the ballot, it is the center’s job to get out and talk to everyone between now and August and educate people as to the need and why it’s even a thought.

Putting it on the ballot, let’s all registered voters vote and democracy rules. Please don’t wait. Go to our senior center, sign the petition and let it be on the ballot.

Finally, I think should go to the senior center and see what they do! Have lunch and talk to folks. Many people don’t know what they do for all of us. Many don’t try to learn what they do until they need help. You don’t have to be old to be a part. They do a tremendous job. Come see for yourselves what all happens for this entire community at the center. Young or old, come and see, be our guest!

Registered voters, I am asking for you to please come sign the petition at the senior center and let things work properly and the way they should.
