Republican party holds county convention

The Hot Springs County Republican Party held their County Convention on March 9 at the Big Horn Federal Bank in their community room.

The delegates were seated at 9 a.m. and the convention began.

They worked on any amendments to the platform and bylaws at both the state and county level.

A few resolutions passed. A return to hand counts for all elections in Wyoming passed.

In addition, a resolution to support republic review, which basically encourages that a committee of HSC citizens, HSC County Commissioners and the HSC Republican Party form a standing committee to identify any violations of the Constitution, and to help educate citizens of the law and processes of what is Constitutional and what is not and why.

The next resolution was to make sure the business of the State Convention is prioritized over all speeches, memorial and any miscellaneous business that may come before the body at the upcoming State Convention.

State Delegates were also elected and include Cheryl Aguiar (Chair), Bob Aguiar (State Committeeman), Leyann Gomez (State Committeewoman), Jean Skelton, John Wertz, Phillip Scheel, Shurie Scheel and Russell Lewis.

The National Delegate will be Cheryl Aguiar with Jean Skelton as the Alternate.
