Thermopolis Middle School wrestlers bring home second from Glenrock

Last Friday, the Thermopolis Middle School wrestling team traveled to Glenrock for the Herder Middle School Team Dual Tournament bringing home a second place finish in Pool A. Competition during a dual style tournament is between two schools and each team is allowed to enter one wrestler per weight. Often times, weight classes are filled with wrestlers from other teams to prevent smaller teams from giving up points.

Thermopolis was able to fill 14 of the 20 weight classes with Bobcat wrestlers and picked up two wrestlers from competing schools, while the remaining Thermopolis wrestlers joined various other teams.

In Round 1, the Bobcats won against Saratoga Middle school with a score of 63- 29 and overpowered H.E.M. Middle School in Round 2 with a final score of 84-28. Thermopolis lost in Round 3 to Glenrock Intermediate with a score of 69-36 but came back in Round 4 beating Upton Middle school 66-48.

In the final round of the day, Thermopolis lost to Lusk, 61-42.

Following a full day of duals, the team headed to Riverton on Saturday for the Spartan Invitational Tournament. Thermopolis placed 9th, seeing competition from 12 other schools. Individual results from Riverton are:
