Welcome home!

Residents came out in force last Wednesday to welcome home Thermopolis Police Sergeant Mike Mascorro who was injured in a shooting on April 28. Mascorro was life-flighted to Casper after emergency surgery at Hot Springs Health. Mascorro is glad to be home and in good spirits as he navigates the healing process. The investigation in to the officer involved shooting is being conducted by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation. When Sgt. Mascorro responded to a residence to speak with Buck Laramore, 33, he produced a weapon and shot and wounded Sgt. Mascorro at the residence. Sgt. Mascorro returned fire which resulted in the death of Laramore.
