Last Friday and Saturday, the Wyoming GOP held its quarterly State Central Committee meeting in Jackson. The weather was quite fickle, but representatives from all twenty-three counties arrived to do Republican business.
According to State Statutes, the Wyoming Republican Party meets to elect a chairman, vice chairman and secretary in odd-numbered years.
On May 6, the State Central Committee re-elected Frank Eathorne, Chairman, David Holland, Vice Chairman, and Donna Rice, Secretary.
Hot Springs County was represented by new Chair Cheryl Aguiar who had served previously as State Committeewoman, and new to the challenge was Leyann Gomez as State Committeewoman, and Bob Aguiar as State Committeeman.
Saturday’s session saw the unanimous passage of a resolution from Hot Springs County Republican Central Committee to challenge the over-reach of the EPA and the Army Corps of Engineers ref. Waters of the United States (WOTUS).
Another important resolution was passed in support of Parental Rights in Education. This was initiated to aid parents in fighting School District’s and their staff that believe they can insert themselves into a family affairs.
Cheryl Aguiar was selected as alternate representative for Dist. 5 of the Wyo. GOP. Frank Eathorne offered Leyann Gomez a couple of committee choices; she picked Election Integrity. Bob Aguiar and Cheryl Aguiar will also serve on State Committees.
