Stephanie Logan Petty, 19, beloved daughter, sister, and friend, died Tuesday, April 25, 2023, in Thermopolis, Wyo.
The daughter of Mark and Tonya (Vernarsky) Petty, she was born September 26, 2003, in Longmont, Colo. She attended school in Thermopolis, graduating in 2022 from Hot Springs County High School, where she was a National Finalist in Speech and Debate and the programmer for the Robotics Teams. Following school, she did some traveling with friends and stayed a short while in Arizona.
She was a free spirit and enjoyed playing video games, board games, and cards, especially Magic The Gathering. She found a love for cooking and traveling and, ever since she was little, loved to take things apart to put them back together, although maybe not in the same way she first found them. She was an extremely good programmer and enjoyed working on computers and using 3D printers.
Stephanie is survived by her parents, Mark Petty and Tonya (Vernarsky) Petty; sister, Breeze Petty; grandparents, Michael and Brenda Vernarsky of Sioux Falls, S.D .; Great Uncle and Aunt, Willie and Linda Nelson of Thornton, Colo .; Great Uncle and Aunt, Dale and Barbara Petty of Thermopolis; her best friend, Zane Stone; and so many other dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Russell, and Ella Petty.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Thermopolis.
