Disappointed with school board, auditor

I am constantly amazed at the unprofessional behavior of the Hot Springs County School Board. Most recently, the sarcastic remarks about a concerned citizen / accountant who has spent a large amount of her time the last three months trying to help the board find the half million plus dollars of taxpayer money they seemed to ‘misplace’. I believe that sum of money and the attitude of the board should be a concern to all taxpayers in our county.

The auditor sarcastically berated her for 50 minutes before eventually agreeing with her findings but never apologized for his comments. Instead of thanking the citizen accountant, the board continued to bash her for all the work she did.

A trustee also commented that she accused the School Superintendent of theft? I have attended numerous board meetings and the citizen accountant actually commented that she was NOT accusing anyone of theft. Many other citizens have accused the Superintendent of misbehavior but nobody ever accused anyone of theft!

The citizens of Hot Springs County need to start attending the School Board meetings and be ever diligent of Trustee’s behavior.
