The Wyoming Dinosaur Center is holding its Dining with Dinosaurs Fundraiser on April 22 at 6 p.m. at their main building at 110 Carter Ranch Road in Thermopolis. The last time they held this event was in 2017.
Angie Guyon, President/Executive Director of the Wyoming Dinosaur Center, said, “As you may know, the Wyoming Dinosaur Center is a tax-exempt 501(c )3 organization and education is the core of our existence. We have a unique teaching opportunity for children, teachers, and people of all ages to gain a more complete understanding of the richness of Wyoming’s fossil legacy. Every year, we see the impact we have on individuals and families by providing exciting, personal educational experiences to both adults and young people. Especially for many youngsters, their adventures here at the WDC are as eye-popping for them as they are memorable for us.”
Some of their programs include Kids Dig for children ages seven to 12, Dig for a Day program for families and individuals of all ages, and their Shovel Ready program, which is a morning and afternoon event, plus many other programs.
At the Dining with Dinosaurs Fundraiser, there will be a silent auction and raffle from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Items include a two-night stay in Red Lodge & Yellowstone Sanctuary, Wyoming Cowboys football tickets & swag, a Wyoming Whiskey gift basket, a year membership to the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, plus many, many more.
Guyon also said, “As with many nonprofits, we depend on four major sources of revenue: (1) operational fees (entrance fees, education program fees, gift shop sales), (2) annual memberships, (3) foundation or government grants, and (4) fundraising and public donations. The Dining with Dinosaurs Gala is just one of the many events we have that helps us continue our commitment to science education. We sincerely appreciate your support and hope you join us for a fun-filled evening. With your support, all people, young and old, will be able to enjoy Wyoming’s rich fossil heritage forever.”
Dinner will be at 7 p.m. and includes 14-ounce ribeye & half chicken, bacon-wrapped shrimp, jalapeno poppers, mac & cheese, broccoli, salad, rolls, and peach cobbler. The dinner is catered by We’ve Got Your 6 Portions. Also, there are No-Host Cocktails from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. provided by Shorty’s Liquor.
