I feel uplifted and blessed by having attended the World Day of Prayer gathering Friday at the fair building. We find such goodness in Thermopolis! We see so many people helping to build the kingdom of God by being kind and caring as well as generous not only in their time but also their money to support many worthy and meaningful fundraisers. We see people reaching out and helping with the same genuine love our Savior showed. In his first epistle to the Corinthians Paul stated “There should be no schism in the body but that the members should be the same care one for another.” I saw that type of love Friday. No racism, prejudice, or division for or by anyone... Only a willing desire to be diligent in calling upon our Almighty God to heal our hearts and the hearts of the Nations, rooting out any discrimination.
Karen Sinclair did a wonderful job of making all feel welcome. We heard prayers of thanksgiving for what we’ve been given as well as prayers of forgiveness and prayers that our nation and world can be restored and healed and communities live and work together in unity. When we see occasions such as this we are happy to live in a community where there are people doing as stated in John 17:20-23.
I like this quote by Elder D. Todd Christofferson: “As life gets difficult, with problems and trials, remember they are a normal part of life; even suffering is a normal part of life...and maybe even part of a good life if that suffering teaches us how to be patient, kind and loving.” We have found our “heaven on earth” here in this good community.
Each of us has a special place in God’s heart and I felt that love in the gathering Friday as we were “bound together in love.” We can live and work together as we look for and see miracles all around us through the Creator. May we all help one another to be content to love and treat others the best we can asking God to show us the way day by day in this precarious, yet Wonderful World in which we live.
