Seventh grade basketball team finishes third

The 7th grade A Team finished third in the conference tournament this past weekend. The team beat Lovell by a score of 43-29.   

Scoring: Baer McPhie 24 points,  David King 8, JaCoby Elder 6, Tate Roberts 11 rebounds and Trevin Shaffer 4 assists.  

The boys beat Powell by a score of 28-26

Scoring: David King 10 points,   Trevin Shaffer 5 and JaCoby Elder- 7 steals.

The team was defeated by Worland in the Semifinals by a score of 49-36:  Baer McPhie- 18pts.  JaCoby Elder- 7pts.  Tyler Morris- 7 rebounds.

“The team had tremendous growth and improvement this season.  Each of our players played well in the tournament.  We are very proud of the commitment to success and improvement each player from this team has given this season,” said coach Ryan Shaffer.

The 7th grade B boys middle school team had it’s end of season Jamboree in Powell. The team avenged both of it’s only regular season losses by beating Lovell and Riverton.  They also defeated Lander.

In the first game the team beat Lovell by a score of 36-34. 

Scoring: Jarrett Cornella 12 points, Lane Collamer 9, Tyler Morris 8 and Carter Hughes-Becera dropped in 6 points.

In the second game the boys defeated Lander by a score of 30-17. 

Scoring: Cornella 10, Hughes-Becera 4, Clint Kimes 4, Collamer chipped in 5 points and Oliver Bihr had 3.

In the final game of the day, the team defeated Riverton by a final score of 44-17. 

Scoring Cornella 12, Collamer 7,  Hughes-Becera 7, Morris 9, Bihr 4, Kimes 4, Aiden Cleare 1, Logan Johnson and Bobby Crow also played well.  

“It was a great weekend for this team.  We are proud of the improvement and growth of each player,” said coach Shaffer.
