Four members of the Thermopolis Wrestling Club competed at the 2022 WAWA Middle School State competition in Gillette last Saturday.
In girls MS 110, Lilly Quintanilla placed 1st and scored 18 team points. She won by fall over Joriana Hine, Powell Wrestling Club, 0:33, and she won by fall over Kaydee Messer, Riverton USA Wrestling, 0:39.
In boys MS 70, Garret White placed 1st and scored 42 team points. In the quarterfinal White won by tech fall over Braxten Link, Greybull Basin Athletic Club, 16-0. In the semifinal White won by decision over Tyrus Connors, Buffalo Outlaws Wrestling Club, 9-3. In his 1st place match, White won by decision over Darris Todd, Green River Grapplers, 4-2.
In boys MS 90, Dyllan Myers placed 5th and scored 18 team points. In the quarterfinal Myers won by fall over Brysn Traub, Sheridan Wrestling Club, 0:47. In the semifinal, Myers lost to Bentley Johnson, Green River Grappler, by decision, 8-1.
In the consolation semi, Myers lost to Ian Riesen, Sheridan Wrestling Club, by fall, 2:35. In his match for 5th place Myers won by fall over Danner Wiseman, Moorcroft Mat Masters Wrestling Club, 1:59.
In boys MS 120, Cannon Boren placed 1st and scored 66 team points. In round 1 Boren won by fall over Ethan Ely, Wyoming Unattached, 1:06. In the quarterfinal match Boren won by fall over Dennis Thornock, Riverton USA Wrestling, 0:56. In the semifinals Boren won by fall over Heston McMillan, Diamondville Wrestling Club, 0:51. In the 1st place match Boren won by fall over Hayden Eardley, Wyoming Unattached, 2:56.
