Hot Springs County High School will be holding its drama showcase on Tuesday, Thursday, Dec. 1, and Friday, Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. at the school auditorium. The students will perform a one-act play called Fourteen Lines.
The cast for 14 Lines includes Brendon Butler, Sharon Burgess, Ivey Goff, Karina Lea, Tanner Macie, Talyah Myers, Savanna Nelson, Riley O’Brien, Julia Quintanilla, Ben Weaver and Rosalie Willson.
The students will be going to State Drama in Gillette on December 8-10. Also competing in events at state are Chris Bapst, Audrey Hensley, Sydney Jacobsen, Zoey Larson and Claire Simpson.
Amie Wiley, Assistant Drama Director, said, “Some of the students have been working on monologues, duets, and musical numbers which will be performed at the drama showcase. Audience members will also be able to view some of the behind-the-scenes types of projects that will be presented at State Drama, such as costume design and makeup design.”
Wiley continued and said, “This year we included a few 8th graders to give them an idea of what goes on in drama and let them have a chance to work on their own projects. These will also be on display at the showcase this week.” They are Hayden Franklin, Tim Macie, William Bapst and Aubriana Layman.
