William "Bill" Byron Yager, 88, passed away at the Worland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center on November 11, 2022.
He was born on May 14, 1934, in Boulder, Colo., to David Russell and Gladys Louise (Schreiner) Yager. He graduated from Golden Colorado High School in 1952 and soon after married his partner for life, Marjorie Ann Franti. He worked in Golden at Coors Porcelain Company for "40 years on a concrete floor" in kiln management. Throughout that time, Bill and Marge raised three children: Joy, David, and Douglas.
After retirement Bill and Marge moved to Thermopolis, Wyo., where he worked part time and enjoyed all the things this State has to offer. He especially loved camping and fishing and went any chance he got. Bill loved to spend time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He talked about making trips to see them as often as he could.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marge; children, Joy (John) Hightower of Anthem, Ariz., David (Shelley) Yager of Centennial, Colo., and Douglas (Rebecca) Yager of Taos, N.M .; grandchildren, Michael, Daniel and Jennifer; and great-grandchildren, Miles, Mara and Elliot.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, David and Gladys.
Bill loved helping others and that will continue on now that he has passed. In 1984, he signed up with the Anatomical Board of the State of Colorado to donate his body to science. There, he will be able to help doctors learn more about Alzheimer's and hopefully keep working to find a cure. Because of this selfless gift, no services will be planned at this time.
Memorial donations may be made to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. Online condolences may be made at http://www.bryantfuneralhomeonline.com
