Photographer turned author

Thermopolis native photographer Ron Hayes has padded his resume in the past year by filming a documentary for the BBC, filming for multiple major corporations and photographing wildlife around North America.

Ron also became a grandfather and father in law this year prompting him to team with well-known Wyoming author Casey Day-Rislov to bring his first book “Let me Tell You About my Mom” to life.

Let me tell you is to be a wildlife series featuring many North American terrestrial and aquatic species in different formats. The first book in the series engages children from 0-14 years of age with facts about wild mothers and promises to have unknown details available to even the most knowledgeable wildlife aficionado.

Canadian outdoor writer and photographer of the year Mark Raycroft says “Ron’s unwavering passion for capturing the wonders of the natural world, and his keen eye for photographic detail, shine through in this delightfully illustrated children’s book. Ron and Casey have crafted an engaging and informative guide for young readers eager to learn about wild animal moms and their adorable babies.”

You can see his book on Small Town Saturday, November 26 at the Storyteller, from 10-2. Ron will be signing and have other merchandise available for purchase. You can also order from Westernwildlifeimages.com or by contacting Lily Hayes at lilyjean1953@gmail.com.
